We’ve just rolled out Matter Utilities v2.5.2! It brings a smoother Thread setup experience, along with important fixes to enhance overall app stability.
What’s new:
Simplified Matter over Thread Setup
Connecting Matter devices over Thread is now easier than ever. The setup flow automatically detects available Thread Border Routers on your local network and guides you through pairing seamlessly (tested with Apple TV 4K Gen 2 2021, Google Nest Hub, Amazon Echo Dot Gen 4th, Aqara Hub M3, Aqara Hub M100).
Border Router Setup Guide
Added a dedicated walkthrough within the app to assist users in adding a Thread Border Router via the manufacturer’s app: step-by-step instructions make onboarding smoother than before.
Fixes & Enhancements:
Thread Connectivity Enhancements → Improved Thread network stability and connection retries for smoother device onboarding.
Performance & Reliability → Optimized connection handling and background scanning to ensure faster discovery and more consistent results.
General Stability → Minor fixes and under-the-hood improvements for a better overall Matter experience.
