Hi, I tried scanning to connect with the app, but it still doesn’t work. I’ve reset both my device and the app a couple of times, but I still can’t pair. Is this a bug or an issue with my device, or i lack any steps?? My device is Nanoleaf Essentials Bulbs E27 ( Nanoleaf Matter Thread Smart Bulb (E27) | Smart LED Lighting – Nanoleaf Shop Europe )
Currently, your device is being sold in two versions. Could you check which version you are using: Matter over WiFi or Matter over Thread? (You can check the box or the device itself. If there’s no Thread logo, it’s Matter over WiFi.)
If your device is Matter over Thread, it cannot be connected at this time. We are working on a new version that will allow connections with devices over Thread.
If it’s Matter over WiFi, please try resetting the device and pairing again. If it still doesn’t work please let us know!

My device is indeed Matter over Thread. I’m a bit curious: since Thread is a standard part of Matter and many of my other Thread devices (Hue, Eve, Nanoleaf…) connect normally via a Border Router, it’s a little confusing that the app doesn’t support Thread commissioning yet.
- Is there an estimated timeline for when Thread support will be available?
- Will there be any workaround or temporary option to test or pair Thread devices in the meantime?
We supported Thread in version 2.5.2. We’re waiting for Apple to accept our new version. We’ll release it immediately after Apple has finished reviewing
